Setup CURs For Billing
We use CURs billing to calculate billing our custom billing. It is configured to have hourly granularity. It is essential to have this setup for our billing system to work.
Instead of trying to describe how to setup CURs billing, I will just link to the AWS documentation that describes how to do it. Check out AWS' documentaion on how to setup CURs billing with Athena.
While following that article I ended up doing the following:
- Named the report
curs-staging - Created S3 bucket named
jetrails-cost-and-usage-reports-staging - Selected Athena as the service that it will integrate with
Once CFN template is installed, we can activate site and environment cost allocation tags through the cost allocation tags dashboard.
Note
The site and environment tags are there for legacy reasons. The Deployment and Organization tags are now used and are important to enable.
